The club’s regular meeting place, the South Branch “Little Red” Schoolhouse should be available for this year’s club meetings. This schoolhouse is actually the South Branch School, located at 2120 South Branch Road (near Studdiford Dr.). Click here to go to a Google map of the school’s approximate location.* General Directions to the Little Red Schoolhouse: From US Highway Route 202 going south from the intersection of 202 and Readington Road, get into the left lane of Route 202 South. Turn left at the next traffic light onto West County Drive. Follow this road down the hill. First you will pass a road on your right, followed by part of the South Branch Road on your left. Note that this is where West County Dr. becomes South Branch Road (Route 567). Then you will pass the "River Lea Farm" on the right and Studdiford Drive on the left. Almost immediately you will see the tiny, old-fashioned schoolhouse with its one-lane driveway on your right. The parking lot and entrance are in the back of the small building. Adult guests are welcome. For membership inquiries, call the membership chairman at (908) 866-1060 or e-mail bwc4me “at” spamex.com (use the @ symbol instead of “at” and leave out the spaces). If the schoolhouse’s renovations interfere, then our meetings may move to Branchburg’s Whiton Hills Community Center, located in the lowest level of building #10 of the Whiton Hills Complex. Whiton Hills is a multi-unit residential complex, located near the intersection of Whiton Road and US Highway 202 South in Branchburg. General Directions to the Whiton Hills Community Center: From US Highway 202 South (southwest), turn right (north) into the Whiton Hills Complex at its main entrance. Turn left onto Bermuda Drive and then take your first right onto Abby Way, which soon bends to the left. You will be in front of Building #10, which seems to be the smallest building closest to the center of the complex (as you can see in the map below). The community room’s entrance is located on the lowest level of the southeast side of building #10, just off Abby Way. Look for the blue sign on the fence railing and follow the sidewalk down to the room. September 25, 2010 Saturday, Noon— 4:30 p.m. Visit BWC’s table under the big tent! Please bring canned food to donate to the club’s Annual Food Drive for the Food Bank Network of Somerset County until 4:30 p.m. Location: White Oak Park, Baird Rd., Branchburg, NJ 08876 Directions*: From US Highway 202, turn north onto Old York Road (County Route 637). Follow Old York Road for 0.6 miles and then turn right (north) onto Stony Brook Road. After 0.4 miles, turn left (West) onto Baird Road. White Oak Park is a short way up on the left, across from Central Middle School. If legally possible, fair visitors typically park at locations along Baird Road. Only vehicles exhibiting the special parking pass for the Country Fair may park inside the White Oak Park during the fair. For an interactive Mapquest Map, click here. November 13, 2010 Saturday, 9 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. BWC Craft Fair and Bake Sale BWC will present a Craft Fair to benefit its Student Awards & Charitable Donations Fund (a.k.a. Philanthropic Fund) Location: Whiton School’s gym, 470 Whiton Rd., Branchburg, NJ 08853 Directions*: From the Somerville Circle (intersection of Routes 202, 206, & 28) follow US Highway 202 south approx. 6 miles. After the 7th traffic light (West County Dr.), make next left turn at Holland Brook Rd. (center median). Go to the end of Holland Brook Rd. and make a right turn onto Whiton Road. School is on the left. From Flemington Traffic Circle (intersection of 202, 31, and 12) take US Highway 202 north approx. 7 miles. After Getty gas station (before 5th traffic light), make a right onto ramp leading to Whiton Road. Follow Whiton Road approx. 1 mile – school is on the right. Call (908) 369-4376 about event. |
